Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you visit the y2mate website at y2mate.party and use its YouTube downloading tools (the "Service"), why it is processed, who it is shared with and what choices you have. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" stand for the operator of y2mate.

We built y2mate to work with as little information about you as possible. There are no user accounts, and we never ask for your name, email address or payment details to use the Service.

Information We Process

The information we handle is limited to what is needed to deliver the Service and keep it secure.

Video Links You Submit

When you paste a YouTube link, the video ID it contains is sent to our server, which passes it to our conversion provider so that the provider can look up the video and prepare the file you choose. This does not require any personal information, and we do not keep a database of the videos you convert.

To show the progress of a conversion and to deliver the finished file, your browser connects directly to our conversion provider's servers. The video's title and thumbnail image are also loaded straight from YouTube. As with any website, these services receive your IP address and basic browser information when your browser connects to them.

Request Logs

Our website is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., our hosting and content delivery network (CDN) provider. When you load a page, Cloudflare processes standard request information such as your IP address, your browser's user agent, the address of the page requested and the date and time of the request. This information is used to deliver the website, keep it secure, protect it against abuse and attacks, and troubleshoot technical problems. Because the address of our convert page can include the ID of the video you are converting, that ID may also appear in these logs.

Messages You Send Us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, the content of your message and any attachments. We use this information only to read and answer your message and to handle any request it contains, such as a copyright notice or a privacy request.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above only to:

  • provide the Service and deliver the files you request;
  • keep the website secure and prevent fraud, abuse and attacks;
  • monitor performance and fix errors;
  • respond to your messages and handle copyright and privacy requests;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Legal Bases for Processing

If you are in the European Economic Area, Switzerland or another region with similar data protection laws, we process personal information on the following legal bases:

  • Providing the Service: processing the link you submit and delivering the file you ask for;
  • Legitimate interests: operating, securing and improving the Service and preventing abuse, in a way that does not override your rights;
  • Consent: where the law requires it, for example before non-essential cookies are used;
  • Legal obligations: when we must keep or disclose information to comply with the law.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. y2mate uses Google Analytics, which sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell visits apart and to measure how the website is used. We do not set any cookies of our own for advertising. Our hosting provider Cloudflare may also set strictly necessary cookies that help protect the website from malicious traffic; these are not used for advertising.

Analytics and Advertising Partners

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use y2mate, for example which pages are viewed, how long visits last, the type of device and browser used and the approximate region a visit comes from. This helps us fix problems and improve the service. Google Analytics collects this information through cookies and similar technologies and processes it under Google's own privacy terms; it does not tell us who you are, and we do not send it the video links you convert.

To keep y2mate free, we may also work with advertising partners in the future. Such partners may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to show advertisements and to measure how well they perform, and some advertisements may be personalized based on your visits to this and other websites. Each partner processes information under its own privacy policy, and we cannot access or control the cookies it sets.

You can read how Google uses information from websites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your Cookie Choices

You can view, block and delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, although blocking all cookies may stop some websites from working properly. You can also:

How Long We Keep Information

We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Conversion requests are handled in real time. We do not store the links you submit in a database, and we do not keep copies of the files you download on our servers. The download links prepared by our provider expire after a few minutes.
  • Request logs are kept by Cloudflare for a limited period under its own retention practices and are then deleted or anonymized.
  • Emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, after which we delete them unless the law requires us to keep them.

How We Share Information

We share information only with service providers that help us run y2mate, and only as needed for the purposes in this policy:

  • Cloudflare, which hosts, delivers and protects the website (see Cloudflare's privacy policy);
  • our conversion provider, which receives the video IDs you submit and, when your browser connects to it, your IP address and browser information, so that it can prepare and deliver your files;
  • Google, which provides Google Analytics as described above, and advertising partners, if we work with them in the future.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, in response to valid legal requests, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, the Service or others. If y2mate is ever transferred to a new operator, this policy will continue to apply to any information transferred with it.

Third-Party Websites

Our pages may contain links and advertisements that lead to other websites, and the videos you convert come from YouTube, which is operated by Google. This Privacy Policy does not cover those third parties and we are not responsible for their practices, so please read their own privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 where a higher age applies under local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, including under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you may have some or all of the following rights:

  • Access: ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correction: ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Deletion: ask us to delete your personal information;
  • Restriction and objection: ask us to limit how we use your information, or object to uses based on our legitimate interests;
  • Portability: ask to receive your information in a structured, commonly used format;
  • Withdrawal of consent: withdraw any consent you have given, at any time, without affecting earlier processing;
  • Opting out: opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising (we do not sell personal information);
  • Complaint: lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To make a request, email us at contact@y2mate.party. We may need to ask for information to verify your request, and we will respond within the time limits set by applicable law. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. Please note that because y2mate has no accounts, we often hold no information that can be linked to you.

International Data Transfers

Cloudflare operates a global network, and our service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live, including the United States. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from the laws where you live. Where the law requires it, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

Security

The website is served over encrypted HTTPS connections, and we limit the information we handle to what is needed to run the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may change, for example when we add advertising partners or when the law changes. Any new version will appear on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. If the changes are significant, we will make reasonable efforts to let you know.
